STEP 1: RESEARCH AND BUILD MICRO PROMOTION STRATEGIES

Search Engine Marketing (SEM) consists of two distinct parts, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Search Engine Advertising (SEA). Both SEO and SEA require keyword research and copyrighting skills. They also require coordination of 4 basic skill sets.

I will assume you have a traditional business/marketing plan and need to adapt it to an online representation of your business outlet. Like in the physical world you must know your direct competitor and those that provide services that compliment yours.

To start adapting your plan you must gather competitive information about the market segment you belong to and start choosing the right info paths to a complimentary mix of Internet sites and services.

To get started lets make a list of your physical suppliers, direct competitors, complementary services, and advertising mediums.
