Install First Module
Users Online is included in the core content modules but not installed. This section covers how to install this module so it will show up in the dropdown box of your Administrators Menu Bar. There are two types of modules, one is called a PA or 'Private Assembly', this is the easiest module to install. Other modules require that you manually set up the edit links in 'Module Definitions' see edit module directory settings.
Install Private Assembly
- Login as Host
- Highlight Host File Manager
- Click on Add New File in the upper left hand corner. You will now see the 'File Upload' screen.
- Choose the 'Custom Module' radio button
- Click on the 'Browse' button to open your desktop files
- Navigate to your portal folder on your server file (or open a copy of your DotNetNuke Portals)
- Open the folder Portals/DesktopModules/UsersOnline. You will see a zipped UsersOnline file.
- Click on the UsersOnline.zip
- Click the Add link and the file will move to the upload textbox.
- Click the Upload File link (the decompress button should be grayed out)
- Your Module Upload Processing report will print out on the page letting you know if the module installation was successful.
UsersOnline will now be installed in your DotNetNuke Portals dropdown box. All PA's or Private Assemblies work this way. When you download your PA follow the instructions above for uploading it to your portal.
