Host controls and what they do.
Host Title
Enter your Company/Organization Name.
Host URL
Enter your internet address. (www.company.com)
Host email
Enter the email address of the person responsible for the domain.
Note: If you are doing a fresh install from the DotNetNuke.zip file the portal skin/container lists will be empty. Skip this section, complete your settings and refer to the Skins sub menu section below. Leave your host settings to 'None Specified' to allow administrators to control the skins.
Select a skin to set your site style.
Host Skin
Select a Host skin from the drop down list box.
Host Container
Select a Host container from the drop down list.
Admin Skin
Select an Admin Skin from the drop down list.
Admin Container
Select an Admin Container from the drop down list.
Preview
Click on Preview to see the skin in a new temporary window.
The following information is only required if you plan to add e-commerce modules to your portal.
Payment Processor
Select your provider from the drop down list box.
ProcessorUser ID
Enter your Payment Processor Account ID.
ProcessorPassword
Enter your payment processor account password.
The following information is only required if you plan to resell or provide additional domain portals/sub portals from your host database.
Hosting Fee
Enter what you charge your customer/department.
Hosting Currency
Select the Monetary type associated with your country/payment processor requirements.
Hosting Space
The amount of hard drive space you wish to automatically allocate to new portals.
Demo Period
Enter the number of days before the demo expires.
Anonymous Demo Sign up
Allows anonymous internet users to create demo portals. NOT RECOMMENDED AS IS. For test purposes only…Click the checkbox on.Create a link on your page with the URL: http://yourdomainname/Default.aspx?tabid=1&mid=321&ctl=SignupClick on this link to see the demo.Admin Demo users receive a link at the bottom of Site Settings for renewal. The link is forwarded to Pay Pal for payment services.
Set the following portal switches.
Site LogBuffer items
Enter an integer value.
Site LogHistory
Enter the number of days to retain the site log.
DisableUsers Online
Click on your choice. This module is included in your core but not pre-installed. You must install it under File Manager and place it on your page as a content module.
UsersOnline Time
Enter integer value to set the time out clock. i.e. if no activity from the user in 20 minutes then time them out.
Obtain the following information from your network administrator if it is required.
Proxy Server
Enter the IP number of the proxy server.
Proxy port
Enter the port number assigned.
ProxyUsername
Enter the username to access the proxy server.
ProxyPassword
Enter the associated user password.
Web RequestTime Out
Enter an Integer value.
The following section sets up and tests your portal email service.
SMTP Server
Enter the domain name or IP number of your mail server.
SMTP Username
Enter the SMTP username if required.
SMTP Password
Test
Click on this link to send a test message.
Secure your file upload permissions.
File Upload Extensions
Review and modify your list as required.
We RECOMMEND that you DO NOT add com, bat, exe, or hta to your list.
An example might include: jpg,jpeg,jpe,gif,bmp,png,doc,htm,html,xls,ppt,pdf,txt,xml,xsl,css,zip
Skin Upload Permissions
Select Host or Portal to allow skin uploads for administrators.
More Site Settings
Cache Timeout seconds
Enter Integer value. Click the Clear link to immediately clear the cache.
PasswordEncryption Key
Put your own value in here so your password will be encrypted. Make sure you have a back-up before trying this. We recommend using a 1 or * or any character.
Show Copyright Credits
When search engines come to your site they pick-up DotNetNuke copyright information. Check here to let them see the information.
Use Custom Error Message
Turn off/on default custom error pages located in /Portals 403-3, 404, 500.
5.Click on Update to save your host settings record.
Upgrade Log for Version
Select the version number from the drop down list after applying a core portal update. Click on the Update button above to save your record.
You have now configured your host settings.
